A Bellarmine University student who police say concealed her pregnancy was charged with murder after she allegedly gave birth to a baby girl in a toilet and then threw the body away. At some point late Tuesday, McCoy took the baby in the garbage bag to a trash room about 50 or 60 feet down the hall, Wilkerson said. Before police arrived, McCoy allegedly returned to the trash room, brought the baby back to her dorm room and put her in a gym bag to conceal the body. The Plainfield senior yearbook shows McCoy as a member of the Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the French Club, Spanish Club, Key Club, Octagon Club and other school activities. University President Joseph McGowan sent a campus-wide e-mail to students, faculty and staff yesterday afternoon that named McCoy and updated the charges police had filed. read more
