MANILA, Philippines - A lady lawmaker is pushing for a bill seeking mandatory pregnancy test for women undergoing any cosmetic surgery, a report said Tuesday. Mitzi Cajayon of Caloocan is pressing for House Bill 33417, saying she underwent liposuction without knowing she was one week pregnant. I didn’t know I was one week pregnant then," Cajayon told 24 Oras in Pilipino. According to the report, the Department of Health is supporting the measure Cajayon is proposing. The health department, however, said it cannot sanction the clinic that performed the lawmaker’s surgery. On the other hand, Cajayon said she has no plans of filing a complaint against the clinic that performed her liposuction, saying she will just focus her attention on the bill she is proposing. read more
