(Pregnancy News) Keisha says controversy spoiled pregnancy (The New Zealand Herald)

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

Giving her first formal interview in two years, Castle-Hughes told TV1’s Sunday programme she was shocked when she found out at 16 that she was pregnant. Castle-Hughes, now in the latter stages of her pregnancy, said the public controversy surrounding her being pregnant so young hurt as it left her feeling she had to hide at a time that should have been a huge celebration. Castle-Hughes starred in the New Zealand film Whale Rider three years ago and was the youngest ever Oscar nominee for best actress. Despite a decision to quit acting after the Oscars, Castle-Hughes went on to star in Prince’s controversial music video banned after its first USA screening. (Pregnancy News) New ABC comedy plays pregnancy for laughs (The Pantagraph)

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

Jennifer Westfeldt, who plays nervously excited mom-to-be Lauren, co-wrote and starred in the indie film âKissing Jessica Stein,â received a Tony nomination for the Broadway musical âWonderful Townâ and was a regular on the sitcom âTwo Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. Producer Traub, who was having trouble casting the role, discovered Cambor when she went to see a 2006 Los Angeles production of âThe Cherry Orchardâ starring Annette Benning. But Fox expanded the âAmerican Idolâ results show to an hour for several Wednesdays in April, a move that Traub called âdevastating. This undated photo, provided by ABC, shows actors Peter Cambor and Jennifer Westfeldt in the new comedy series “Notes from the Underbelly,” which premieres on ABC at 10 p. Not everybody is going to give up their favorite show to watch a new show, but give a new show a chance and quit changing the time slot. read more

Friday, April 20th, 2007

A San Antonio church is opening its doors to make sure young mothers have the support they need, if they choose to keep their babies. The idea is to meet both the spiritual and practical needs of the mother with services like free sonograms, free STD testing, free clothing — both for mom and baby — and counseling. The three options — abortion, adoption or keeping the baby — are all tough, and the church says they don’t want women to make a choice they’ll regret later. We feel like if they’re presented with all the facts, they’ll make the right choice for themselves,” said Sarah Stone, the Pregnancy Care Center Director. read more
