MARION - The new Marion Voice of Hope Pregnancy Center will open Tuesday. Voice of Hope provides confidential, free, laboratory-grade pregnancy tests, adoption referrals, referrals to area community service agencies, abortion alternatives, post-abortion support. The new location also has a free maternity and baby clothing closet. Clients can enroll in our Earn While You Learn program to earn diapers, new baby clothes and gently used baby furniture and supplies. Hours are every Tuesday, 5 to 7 p. August 9, 2007 - A mother’s anxiety or depression during pregnancy may affect her child’s sleep patterns early in life. Researchers reporting in the journal Early Human Development found that babies and toddlers whose mothers had such symptoms during pregnancy tended to have more sleep problems than other young children. Investigators suspect elevated stress hormones that mark depression and anxiety may shape fetal brain development, which disturbs early life sleep patterns.
