BIG Brother 2003 winner Reggie Bird has told how she suffered a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy. The former fish and chip owner from Hobart, who lives on the Gold Coast with her new husband, fireman Dale Sorensen, has revealed to The Sunday Mail that she woke up at 3am about two months ago with agonising abdomen pain. Doctors at Pindara Hospital at Benowa diagnosed a highly dangerous ectopic pregnancy and performed emergency surgery to remove one of her damaged fallopian tubes. Ectopic pregnancy occurs when the embryo implants outside the womb – most commonly, as with Reggie, 34, in the fallopian tube. Her marriage to fish and chip shop co-owner Adrian collapsed, a conman posing as a TV producer fleeced her of $40,000, and her dream of working as a flight attendant turned sour when she complained of being bullied by jealous Virgin colleagues. read more
