Figures released Monday by state health officials show more than 10,000 girls between ages 10 and 19 got pregnant in South Carolina in 2006. More than a quarter of the girls had been pregnant before. The group wants schools and teen groups to get back to teaching abstinence and age appropriate information about contraception. The counties with the highest teen pregnancy rates were Allendale and Chester.
