BEAVERCREEK — The 18-year-old Carroll High School student who gave birth at home Friday, March 21, to a baby girl that was pronounced dead hours later didn’t tell child’s father about her pregnancy. The teen also kept the pregnancy from her parents and the faculty at Carroll High who said Tuesday they were shocked to learn of the birth. Officials in the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office are waiting for lab test results on tissue from the child’s lungs and umbilical cord to determine if the infant was born alive, said Ken Betz, director.
